I was diagnosed with IC about 2 months ago. I kept going to my GYN. for bladder infection, but tests always came back negative. He finally referred me to a urologist. I had a cystoscopy 2 months ago, and was diagnosed with IC, and have been on Elmiron for about 1 month. About a month after the first cysto I began seeing blood in my urine after walking on my treadmill. I had another cysto 3 weeks ago. Where biopsy was taken to rule out cancer, I have not healed. My urologist took a few more biopsy's, and still no cancer was found. He says it will take a while for the Elmiron to work, but in the mean time, I cannot hardly stand the pain. I feel pretty good in the mornings, but terrible by the end of the day. With me, the pain is worse than the urgency. If there is just one drop of urine in my bladder, it fills like poison. I wonder if my life will ever be normal again. If anyone has any advice, please let me know.
