Hypoglycemia

Been there, done that

If you have just been diagonised 6 months ago, it will be a while before you can safely cheat. It would be best, as hard as it may seem, to maintain a strict diet for a while. Your body still has not regulated itself. Each time you eat sugar now, you send it on another cycle of "high" sugar that stimulates your body to produce too much insulin. Untill you have spent enough time on the diet you have chosen, your body will not "learn" to decrease the insulin produced in your body. In time, you will be able to "cheat" as you learn which foods help you compensate for the "illegal" foods. I myself have learned after time, that if I have an urge to cheat, I must have a protein either before cheating or after. And if you really can not live without the sugar...Never, never, never eat it on an empty stomach. Also if you are going to cheat, do not eat it late at night. Best advice is to stick with your diet until you have recorded at least two to three months without a "dizzy" spell, or mood swing. Good luck!
