Hi, My 6 yr old granddaughter had her tonsils removed 2 months ago!She had frequent colds, very bad breath and it was affecting her hearing.She also had tubes put in her ears. She spent the night in the hospital and was home the next afternoon. She was very sleepy the first 2 days as she was taking tylenol with codeine for the soreness, but she did very well! Little ones seem to pop back quickly after surgery. She was up and running in about a week.No more colds, breath is fresh,and her hearing came back 100%! So don't be afraid for your daughter.I am sure she will do just fine. Stock up on a lot of popsicles and ice cream! I think it's more traumatic on Mom and Dad! Hang in there. It will be over before you know it.
