Dear Bob, I had neck surgery in December of 98 and I have always had pain ever since. My disc was 5 and 6 and now I am having problems with 4 and 5. I had to wear a neck brace for 8 weeks and that was terrible. I even had to wear it in the shower.The only time I could take it off was to wash my neck occasionally.I have never been pain free but it is better than having your whole arm going numb and staying that way.I have another herniated disc and am going through the pain again. Be very careful after this surgery with your lifting forever.This weakens the rest of your discs in your neck.You will be expected to do alot of walking when you are able to do so.Please let me know how things went for you.I can give you more details if you want them.GOOD LUCK!!!
