I actually do have scarring and will have that forever in the walls of my deep vein system but it doesn't mean I suffer from the symptoms of phlebitis all of the time. I will just be more prone to getting it than others due to the lack of circulation. From what I have read, it seems that phlebitis is an inflamation of or in the superficial vein. I get mixed reviews on that so I am guessing it could be both. I know that it can be a blood clot or just that the vein is inflamed? I'm not clear on that part. Anyway, I have a lot of info on DVT but am unclear on just superficial phlebitis.
