I too have been plagued all my life with canker sores. If these sores occur toward the sides of the inside of my mouth, around the side teeth, the glands under the jaw and chin will be extrelemly sore and swollen. I have found that taking a swab and applying Spirits of Camphor or Anbesol almost hourly will greatly reduce the pain (not when applying, not for the faint)and the healing time is in some cases less than half the time.
