tonsilectomy

Message 4 of 10 Previous Next

Hi, My son had a tonsilectomy last year (7 years old). The crying at night is ear pain. I'm suprised the doctor didn't warn you about it. The operation takes place very close to the tubes of the ears which empty in the throat, this causes spasm like pain, Excrutiating! Codiene was prescribed for my son,but he couldn't take it because he couldn't eat either. Codiene on an empty stomach causes sever stomach pain. I gave him childrens tylenol. Hang in there, things go back to normal, I promise, better than normal. It may be another 5 days, but its worth it. My son can breath better, sleep better no more snoring, less sickness etc. The gurgling sound is normal also, the saliva is so thick after this procedure. My son lost 6 pounds in 10 days. HE could only eat crushed pedia pops. Again hang in there! Best wishes!
