Hi, I just found this link this morning. My son will have the tonsils and adenoids out July 9th. Our nurse said the 3-5 days postop are the hardest and most painful due to meds wearing off and the healing. My mother swears by the 7-11 Slurpees (coke) which help freeze the throat more than ice cream. I asked if we could use Cloraseptic spray sparingly on the throat and they said yes, watch for tummy upset. My son will also be getting the tubes put in his ears, the works! He's a healthy boy and very active, it will be tough to keep him down. Did you receive any night pain pills like Codiene-type Tylenol for him? It's terrible that he's up at night now as well and in pain. I would callt he Dr. too, he needs his rest and you do too. I wish you the best. I'll write again if I hear of anything else that my help...
