Pancreatic Cancer

ALOHA....I just wanted to send my thoughts and prayers your way! I lost my mom to pancreatic cancer less than a year ago, and I can still feel the pain and helplessness I felt when we too found out about her illness. Although each person's cancer is different, the emotions, how we deal with it, I'm sure is very similar. Your Dad must be feeling very discouraged right now, as you are. It sounds like you are taking a very proactive approach to fighting this disease, and that is the only way to face it! I wish I had great words of wisdom to pass on to you about fighting pancreatic cancer, but I really do not. But I will pass on some things my mom felt helped her. She truly believed that staying positive and keeping laughter and humor around her made her feel better. And even better than a laugh was having the family around her. I am grateful for the last few months I had with my mom. Not only was I able to help take care of her, but I was able to tell her how much I truly appreciated and loved her every chance I got. Please give a BIG hug to your dad every chance you get! And tell him that there is a family in Hawai`i that is saying a prayer for him every day, wishing that we could give him a big hug as well. Malama pono.(Take care.)
