I have Lymphodema, but it isn't generic. My is caused by radiation due to cancer. It seems that when you have radiation, it can damage your lymph nodes and causes swelling.My radiologist didn't tell me to be aware of swelling. It took a fellow worker to notice i had one arm larger than the other. Working with a therapist, we got the swelling down real good, but i have to wrap my arm every day with a elastic sleeve that looks like a one piece elastic bandage. At night, my husband wraps it up with several elastic bandages. The sad thing is it is permanent. Lymph Nodes never heal.
