My 10yr old son named Ricky is suffering with thalassemia Major. He is getting regular blood transfusion @ 3 week interval. For reducing iron overload he is taking L1 capsule as oral therapy. Presently his S-ferritine level is 1200ng/l. For bone marrow transplantation HLA tissue typing was done and he is halfloindetical with is younger brother and parents. My queries are as under: 1. whether we can go for BMT. 2. if not can we try for matching bone marrow from outside family.
