My son had asthma like symptoms due to a lung viral infection when he was 10 months old. I am also a registered nurse. I don't think there is any way you can tell when and if this will always happen. To decrease the incidences make you house allergy free: keep dust to a minimum, no pets, remove rugs, no smoking, decrease cow's milk/products. Increase baby's immunity (whole/organic foods, vitamins, decrease processed food, decrease whole milk and other dairy products). See Dr. Weil's web site (www.drweil.com) for more information.
