Memory Loss due to Epilepsy

Julie

Message 10 of 10 Previous

Had epilepsy since a teen..now 56yr. Know I lived in country when a child, love horses and am thinking my father bought me one for my 12th birthday. Whether this is fact or wish I will never know for sure. Remember school classes as was one room elementry school, one row each grade. Now have 5 grown children/11 grand and can barely recall most of their bringing up. In the last few years a serious inner ear opperation was about to take place (said NO to that one) everyone thought deaf. True cause? Very very short memory span. Could recall things while you were speaking and a min. later it was gone, plus the effects of all the drugs diluting our system. Yes memory loss is a big part of epilepsy. Was explained to me by my neurologist that with every seizure a tiny memory chip is taken from the brain, never to return fully. Now happy to say am on proper nutritional diet taking highly recommended supplements to replace what we can not get from our food. This was like a cloud lifted and I returned to earth, med. were reduced, and am now able to think more clearly, hold a qualified job dealing with disabled people some with epilepsy, and run a business from my home as well. Ask for a second opinion, a different neurologist if proper treatment is not given. We did and made the world of diference. Feel free to communicate any time. I also do research on the subject for both work and my home business. Email below. Best wishes Julie
