Boy, my nightmare with PMR sounds identical to yours. It took 6 months for a correct diagnosis. I told people I was in the "diagnosis of the week club". A different diagnosis from each doctor I was sent to. I too had immediate relief at 40 mg. of Prednisone I am down to 8 mg and must slide into each lower dosage or I have a relapse. Do you also find that you must do things slowly and deliberately or you can injure yourself easily? My skin tears like tissue paper from the Prednisone. Also hate the weight gain. Been trying to lose this extra weight by attending Weight Watchers but think it is a losing battle. I do feel good so that is a major plus. My husband also was a big help and rock thru all this. I needed some extra equipment to get out of bed, sit on the toile, grab clothes from the dryer, etc. God bless you gals. Carole
