What a surprise to see how common DVTs are. I was diagnosed in June 2000 after having pleurisy (now suspected as pulmonary embolism) and then DVT in left leg. In hospital for 7 days. The clot was from knee through pelvis. Clot has turned to scar tissue rather than dissolving. Leg aches, gets hot and tired. Purple at ankle and lower calf. Wear compression stocking every day - really helps. Coumadin planned to stop in June 2001. Am afraid of recurrence. I'm told this probably happened due to "the pill" as they found no other risk factors. I'm curious on others' causes and outcomes.
