I just got my tonsils out about 8 hours ago. So far I'm feeling fine. Very mild soar throat, been on the liquid vicadin. There is just an annoying "hairball" in the back of my throat that makes it a little difficult to swallow. I got mine out because of a severe case of Mono 3 years ago that caused my tonsils to swell up to a huge size that put me in the hospital, and they never came back down to the normal size. I talk on the phone for a living and the tone of my voice was affected by how big they were. If I would ever get sick even without a sore throat they would swell up a little and I couldn't talk at all. I'm 24 years old and so far no complaints. I'm just hoping the earth-shattering pain so many of you describe is NOT on the way! I am glad I didn't read these posts this morning I woulda freaked out...I will try to remember to come back with an update!
