I wasn't sure if you got up enough nerve to go through the operation yet, but I am 42 years old and had it done 2/27/04, if you take the pain meds(I took Lortab) it cuts your pain alot, enough to drink water and eat jello and luke warm soup, also, they do make a pain killer called the "numbing lollipop - ACTIQ", it works wonders, takes the pain away and lets you sleep alot, talk to your local pharmacist about this, without this "lollipop", things would of been worse but actually went ok, I am on Day 8 and eating table foods with a mild sore throat , good luck!!!
