I'm 28 years old and I had a tonsilectomy on 7/18/02 - and I know your question is regarding the "flaps" but I feel I have to warn you - this is the most painful thing I've ever experienced. I have gone through labor (34 hrs with my 1st) a c-section, and a couple surgeries, and this by far is the worst pain ever. I have a history of strep throat since I was a child, and my doctor finally talked me into doing this, but had I had any idea how bad it would hurt, I never in a million years would've had it done. Please consider all your options and best of luck if you decide to go through with it.
