Hi, I recently diagosed with anal fistula and was told the only way is to go through surgery. My colorectal surgeon told me that the recurrence is 10%. One of my friend gone through the surgery for anal fistula two years ago. She is again out break with the same symptom. She told me she applied some Chinese herbal oilment to the fistula opening and it is fully recovered in a week time and no further discharge of pus is seen then. I am scheduled to do the surgery in a week time. I think it is no harm trying the Chinese traditional method even though there isn't any scientific proof but sometimes things just work out this way. I heard quite a number of cases that fistula heals by its own by Chinese herbal medication and there isn't any recurrents.
