Hi Neva, I have the same thing but in my right arm. Pill since 16, and occasional smoker as well. I am 31 now. In November, I woke up with my right arm swollen. I have been on blood thinners since then. To prevent this from happening in the future, my sugeon recommends I have my 1st rib removed to open the space between the clavical bone and 1st rib. Did your doctor suggest this. I played softball for many years and have been a hairstylist for 11 years. He says these things could have caused this. I also run and do yoga, especially now. My surgery is on April 6th. After finding this link I am starting to wonder if I should do this! Maybe I should stay on the thinners, i have no insurance. Have any other questions? Kim
