I also had my tonsil removed at 15 years old. I almost died. My mom let me chew aspirin gum for pain. I hemoraged, swallowed alot of blood, that was before they knew aspirin was a blood thinner. I was kept unconcious for about 3 days while they got the bleeding stopped. it was very trying, and no matter at what age your child is,you are never prepared to see them in surgery for anything. alot easier at 3 years old or younger. Just reasure them, you love them and will be there with them, stay in the hospital with them over night.
