I remember that my mother got severe dry eyes so much so that she had to ask for a wet cloth over her eyes in the morning in order to be able to open them. Some months later she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Severe dry eyes may be linked to another internal illness. I'd get myself a total health check-up.
