Sharlene, I have had about the same experience. I feel that I have had some trouble breathing, so I decided to look more into this spontaneous Pneumothorax.And I happened to see your story. I had this happen to me at age 22, I am now 29.I didn't have to have the chest tube, just respitory therapy and it blew back up on its own. But I was just amazed and scared when this happened because I had no reason for this to occur. I quit smoking when this happened for about 2 yrs. Then when I had a really bad time in my life I started smoking again, and still do. I'm really worried about my health, and lungs, but I continue to smoke. I have alot of stress in my life, and I feel cigarettes help me cope better. I know better though. But I do use them as security. I have tried to quit, but just can't seem to do it. The withdrawl symptoms are so harsh. I would love to hear from you if you do find out anything concerning this medical condition. I'm just concerned about my shortness of breath. In the mean time I'm going to try to cut down or hopefully quit smoking.
