I don't know the difference between Ischemic Colitis and Collagenous Colitis, what I do know is I had Ischemic Colitis and almost died. I lost blood supply to 10 inches of my left colon with colonic mucosa & focal mucosa ulceration without any warning,I was 38 at the time, I'm 40 now. This all happened within a couple 3 days. I was on my death bed and didn't know it. I don't even remember be rushed to the hospital. I almost had to have a colostomy, but I refused, I would rather had died first and almost did, but by the grace of God I'm in remission and I'm not talking any medication at this time for Ischemic Colitis. I do have severe stomach pain at times and at those times I take belldonna & compazine for the pain which is no help, but when your hurting you'll take just about anything. It's so hard to find a good doctor these days, one that really cares enough to keep you from suffering, I'm still looking. If you have any info on my type of colitis please let me know. God Bless you
