I am 27 and found I had FD in my hip. What I can tell you about it is that it is extremely rare and not alot of people know about it. It is caused when you bone cells mutate (at birth and NOT genetic) and form squish bone instead of stong bone. I was diagnosed in Aug 2000 when I had a large amount of pain in my hip. they found 2 fd tumors and one had formed a stress fracture (Hence the pain). I had them removed in Sept and they put some structural suportin my body. I am still relearning how to walk, but the limp is getting less every day and best of all NO MORE PAIN. if you have more questions - email me -- Marlo
