Well Shan the total removal of the stomach affects you in many ways. I am living with it. A year ago I had a total gastrectomy and I have problems with eating. I get nausea a lot.but I have to live with it.I eat 8 small meals a day.Can't drink anything cold.gives me cramps.But that's the price I had to pay to live longer.My doctor put me on ativan,which helps me a lot for the nausea part.I might have had stomach cancer from smoking or lack of eating better. Nobody knows for sure.hope it helps Cecile from Quebec,Canada
