i was diagnosed w/ ulserated colitas 5 years ago. i was on the exact same med that your on and it worked for me. then in 99 i got pregnate and couldnt take asacol so my dr told me to see how i did without it while preg, (i did fine) since my son was born in sept of 99 i havent been on any meds. so you see, i was told the same thing u were and it wasnt true. good luck
