preventing pediatric pneumonia

Hello, I don't no if there is only one way to prevent pneumonia from happening. As of mother of two (9 and 3 yrs old) I always stock up on extra C vitamins for them every year (especially cold seasons) and keep the refrigerator stocked with orange juice. Also in cold temperatures outside (it depends where you live), I ALWAYS make them wear coats and a hat or a hood on their head at all times(even cool rain). The head is the most vulnerable part where cold organisms enter ( in the eyes, ears, nose and throat). I'm really sorry that your child has been sick with pneumonia that many times. We simply cannot protect our children from cold germs in different environment where other children are sick, but we can certainly take preventive measures to keep their immune system strong. Its my own opinion also, that stressful situations can lower a person's immune system and make them vulnerable to illness too. So, just do your best as most of us parents do and try to keep them happy and healthy. I hope this encourages you and helps.
