My 9 year old daughter has had an itchy rash which turns painful for 5 months It is in her genital area. We have seen 2 GP's who say it is fungal then was referred to a dermatologist. He guessed it was folliculitus or a yeast infection. Gave her yeast cream and an antibiotic which made it worse. The only thing that works is a cortisteriod cream which I have had to use off and on for the last months. She has now developed a drug allergy to that. I am so sick of them guessing and trying all these drugs on her. Isn't there a test they can do to determine the cause of this rash? It starts as pimple like eruptions then spreads out into an irregular red area where the whole area is red and sore. There are no blisters, or dryness. It looks moist. Any ideas?
