I am wondering why you were given steroids for mono. Steroids are normally used for short term treatment of asthma as an anti-inflammatory agent. I guess that you were given them for that purpose (anti-inflammatory) but since steroids tend to effect liver and kidney function over the long term and alcohol does too I would not use them together. I would suggest you use your steroids for the short (presumaby) time you were given them and restrict your drinking until you feel better and are off of the steroids.
