Yes it is possible to have a sick gallbladder without stones or pain. I just recently had mine removed for a constant pain on the whole right side of my body. I have had pain on and off for 7 years now and they could never find anything wrong with me, I also felt like vomiting after meals too. When they took out the gallbladder they said the ducts which run from the gallbladder to the common bile duct were twisted and kinked so the bile could not get through. So my Gallbladder was healthy but not the duct work they took it out along with the bad passage ways I feel much better now but it takes a good 6 months to feel better again. Good luck to you
