sonja, i too have osteomyelitis after a moto-cross accident in/sugery in mexico. it was a closed distal tibia/fibial fracture and i had a open reduction with steel plate performed on the tibia. after 4 months of attempted healing, the plate fractured. a specialist in tampa, fl opened my leg to instal a IM rod and found the infection, needless to say the IM rod surgery was cancelled. now it's 4 weeks into the 6 week IV antibiotic therapy treating not only staf but fungi, yeast and some other crap and i'm also hopeful to return to the triathlons one day. how did you do? i hope well!
