As a result of a auto accident in 1998, I had a herniation at c5-6 which was pressing on my spinal cord. With this I had pain down my left arm. I had several injections including many steroid injections which did not work. Ended up having a cervical discectomy with fusion which was taken from my hip. I am still having cervical pain since my surgery, and even went through several MRI's and a myelogram. I now have another herniation at c6-7 level. I am in constant pain and on pain meds. I have even had several stellate ganglion injections. I have heard of an implant which a wire is placed below the neck in the back to help with the pain in the arm. My guess is for you to really research your decisions to see which is best for you. Hopefully you will read my note before you choose. Good luck!!
