When you have been infested with scabies, it is very important that family members also get treatment and any cats and dogs by their vet because reinfestation can occur from one to the other, if not. It is not uncommon to become reinfested, again, within 2-4 weeks after the initial infestation because scabies burrow under the skin and lay their larva then these mature and surface causing the second reinfestation. Scabie infestation often requires more than one treatment because of this. Also, make sure to wash bed linen and towels well while you are under treatment. Good Luck, Carol
