My husband had the surgery in 1994 and was home within a week. Everything went fine. In May of 1999, he had thoracic aortic aneurysm repair and it left him paralyzed from the waist down. I would go ahead with the surgery because the Dr told us that abdominal aneurysms are fairly easy to repair. Good luck in your decision!!
