hi, i read your message on healthlinkusa, i actually live in england i am male 52 years of age, was very fit a self defence instructor, athelete etc, about 6 months ago a wheeze arrived in the summer, nothing more i was given a reliever, and sent away, 2 weeks ago, i woke up with a severe asthma attack, i didnt know at the time but i coughed and coughed, i thought at the time it was the good old chesty cough with winter here in u.k. i ended up hardly being able to talk without coughing i was wheezing terrible family members could here me in other rooms wheezing. i was finally 11-30 at night rushed to an e.r. room at our local hospital fighting for breath where i was admitted and stayed 7 days on high doses of steroids, oxygen and nebulisers, i was allowed home last friday 10th november, allthough i am still suffering the cough drives me nuts, to the point where i end up hitting a door or my leg to prevent myself from fainting, my lungs hurt as if i have been ran over by a steam train, i cant walk very far due to breathlessness, but i find the thing that helps with my cough,,,,and you must bear in mind whats fat for the goose may not be fat for the gander, is breathing out hard 2 or 3 times, take in as much air as you can and balst it out deep down your chest, then when you do cough all phlem or tickle tends to go,,,,,for a while anyhow,,,,well my freind good luck
