I am writing on behalf of a friend (43 year old female) who was diagnosed with this virus 6 weeks ago. She was hospitalized for two weeks and received 5 plama exchange treatments. She was sent home with physical therapist coming to the house. Her condition worsened after one week with progressive weakness in her legs. She was rehospitalized and is starting a series of 10 plasma treatments. The doctors are saying that the damage to her legs is more severe than they thought. My question: Is this condition permanent? Will she eventually recover the use of her legs?
