Are you sure your husband isn't suffering from Polymyositis. Have his Doctors check his CPK level. My 30 year old sister found out on 1/26/01 that her CPK level is elevated. She has been through a battery of tests, and none have been conclusive yet. I have been reading up on elevated CPK levels, and difficulty rising from a chair, etc. is a sign of polymyositis. From what I understand, steroids are helpful in the treatment, but there is no cure. I am not a doctor, I have just been reading alot out of concern for my sister. Good luck!
