Hi Karen! I also have medullary sponge kidneys. Yes it is a birth defect! i'd love to hear how your doing and what sort of procedures you've had done etc. etc.I am Australian and live in North Queensland. We are preparing to move to Brisbane as there are no specialists up here. And i'm told I need to be closely monitored as I have thousands of stones and constant pain!!
