Dyspraxia

Christi

Message 3 of 4 Previous Next

My daughter is 4 and although I don't know what she has, she sounds a lot like your son. I've read about dyspraxia and I know that children are diagnosed with it and I plan to bring this up to her neurologist. Kasidi's most delayed area of development is speech which is severely distorted. She can understand nearly everthing that is said to her. She is also having trouble climbing, peddling her bike and potty training. She's also having trouble staying focused on her tasks at school. Kasidi goes to an early childhood spec ed at her public school system. We are currently seeking a diagnosis of some kind. While Kasidi has been getting speech therapy at school it is on the weak side and has not helped her much. Soon we we'll get a referral to an SLP for more extensive speech therapy.
