My heart goes out to you. My 40-year old niece has Stage III ovarian cancer. Last October she was told she had 4 years left. At the time she was diagnosed, she had surgery to remove as much of the cancer as possible. In addition, she has taken chemotherapy for the last year. She has been to Houston to the Anderson Cancer Clinic where they have an experimental research program. So far, we have been unable to find anyone able to help her but we continue to search for someone somewhere who can help her. It's most important to support her, encourage her to be positive and pray for a cure. It's a dreadful disease, and because it's a silent killer, it spreads without you knowing it. I pray your friend will be one of the lucky ones and be a survivor! I realize I haven't answered your questions, but I felt compelled to respond to your note because I know what a tragic disease this is for such a young person.
