I am concerned because I had a fever yesterday afternoon and have had a pain in the back of my neck and head for a couple of days now that hasn't gone away. Could this be meningitis, or does it sound like a pulled muscle or something? What concerns me is the pain in the back of my head, but it could also be just an earache. What other symptoms should I be concerned about before I consult a physician? I did consult my physician (nurse) by phone and they just prescribed me pain medicine for my neck without really listening to my other concerns about it possibly being meningitis. Any other information would be appreciated.
