Sara it sounds like you have a condition called lymphedema. Don't be surprised if you can't find a doctor who knows anything about it - there are some but they are few and far between. You might be better off trying to find a physical therapist certified in Complete Decongestive Physical Therapy which is the best treatment out there for lymphedema. Get her/his opinion and then take it to your doctor. Good luck.
