I have a 6 year old son with either autism or fragile x. We don't know yet, but at this point, we don't think it's overly important to find out. What we (Asante's mother and I) do know is that while there are some community support groups, we are lacking in family support. Her family isn't the type you'd like to leave kids with, and I'm not very close to any of my family. Neither of our mothers amount to more than a six inch mountain of monkey crap. We catch hell even getting a sitter so we can get a few extra hours at work. We've worked hard to get the type of jobs where we can work around each other's scedules. But enough about us, feel free to e-mail me. I'd like to perhaps share info, and maybe we could help each other cope a bit better.
