I was in the study for pilocarpine and in the study it "brought tears to my eyes and made my mouth water". Yes, it really does help, and no side effects unless the dosage is too high, then some loose bowel movements. I don't take it now, because my saliva came back, also tears and sweating (which I had not for many years) since I have been on Paxil. I still suffer from fatigue and muscle pain. But I am so happy to have saliva again. Aggie
