Have you ever been tested for lymes decease? I had very bad problems with my legs before IV antibiotics for lymes decease. Both legs would swell if I walked more than two blocks. The pain was unbareable. I could not stand in one position for more than 2 minutes. I would cry while doing the dishes. If I took the kids to a park, within a half hour my legs were the size of my waist from standing and walking. I have had iv antibiotics for lymes decease at least 3 times (I had allergic reactions to the most common antibiotics - rocephin). Today I still have problems with swelling but it is not anything like "elephant legs". It swells if I walk or stand but it is not more than an inch or two. Also note that you can get a negative lymes test even if you have the decease just like lupus. I also have chronic fatigue syndrome which also can cause swelling. Good luck and God bless.
