Anklosing spondilitis

Message 2 of 11 Previous Next

I understand your your problem. I'm 38 and also have A.S. My hips always hurt when I was younger. Iritis is also what led me to finding out what I had. The doctor sure didn't know and didn't really seem to care for that matter. I too would like to learn of any specialized treatment or facility. It's a very frustrating disease. I've actually had people tell me that I'm just overeacting to small pains. We look normal and therefore must be healthy! Boy if they could only see us trying to get out of bed in the morning.I've taken DHEA for the past 4 years. After about a year of taking it I was able to get off of anti inflams. But recently the inflamation has came back severely in my chest.I go to the gym about every other day and stretch and ride the bike. I also love to lift but am very careful. I think that a hard chest workout is what brought on my latest problem, so going fairly easy seems to help a lot though.Anyway I don't want to bore you. I think your sons case must be much more severe than mine. While I say that I do experience a great deal of pain every day, usually in the morning. And my flexability has suffered lately although I try to stay fexiable. If I hear anything I would love to let you know if you would drop me your e-mail. I know it is very, very tough. I think the good thing though is medical research is rapidly advancing hopefully we can benefit.God bless and keep the faith. Brad
