Hi Jen, I am also in the same boat as your son. I experienced once with marijuana and I'm not sure if it was laced with another drug or not, but needless to say I had a very bad experience. It has been nearly seven years since the experience but it seems, unfortunately like yesterday. I am now 23, and have had some extreme problems relating to the event. This is what happened. I decided to try marijuana one night with my sister and it really affected me badly. After I smoked it, it didn't have an effect until about ten minutes later when my sister was driving and I must have passed out for about one minute, but when I came to it seemed as though everthing was coming at me in intervals and I felt my heart beat out of my chest and I was hyperventalating. She took me back to her friends and it took six big guys to hold me down because I was floppong around and I remember hitting my head and saying that I needed to wake up from this nightmare. They took me inside and I was like this for the next seven to eight hours. I remember looking at my watch about every two minutes and trying to stay focused. Ever since that night, I am not the same person. I cannot stay focused and it seems as though I am veiwing my life through a video camera. Too much commotion or load noises really scare me and my emotions are almost gone. That same year, I would forget how I got from one place to another. When I would 'come to' I would friek out and have almost the same experience as that night. The feeling of being foggy and out of it have never left since that night. I have had problems with major depression and extreme anxiety and panic. The problem with all of this is that whenever I try to explain my story to a doctor or psychiatrist they never believe me and say that I must have had a tramatic upbringing. This is not the case at all, it all tarted that night. It seems I am the only one who knows the truth about my situation. I have been on several types of antidepressants. They have calmed some of the feeling but it is still unbearable. Please watch your son closely and he is so fortunate to have you out looking for ways to help him. I guess I try everday to overcome this but nothing seems to work and only I know what I am feeling. Thanks for listening it seems you would be one to understand. Denise
