Please, don't ignore hives!!! This is a symptom of an allergy. See an allergist get tested, you have probably developed it to something you use every day. I did the same thing as you, took lots of benadryl and then sudafed for my sneezing and "congestion", until one day I had a severe reaction. My throat swelled and I was unable to breathe. My allergy is to latex. I'm a paramedic, I used latex gloves everyday, but even I missed the symptoms. An allergist will be able to find the cause of your allergy, and there are ways to limit it from your enviroment. Also there are many prescription antihistimines now that had little or no side affects to help live with your allergy. I take Zyrtec, prescribed by my allergist, I has made a big difference in managing my allergy.
