I am also in my early 40's and have dry eyes for many years. I had the plugs placed when I was in my early to mid 20's. I remember the day I came home and literally had to pull my lower lids down from my eyes...the plugs were poking my eyes. The next day my doctor said that the angle of the plugs were not right for me. I am Korean and was told that I was the first Asian person to have this procedure. They had to re-angle the plugs. I still have the plugs in just my lower lids and am reluctant to have permanent laser surgery. My original doctor retired and have not found the trust in a new doctor. I continue to use all sorts of eye drops and was just reading about the Hydro-Eye. I was very excited until I just read your comment.
